Purchase GuideRockstone Power® Heavy Duty Step Up/Down Transformers aka Voltage Converters, Voltage Transformers, Power Converters, Step Up Converters, Step Down Converters, Dual Voltage Transformers, are meant for worldwide use for all electronics, heavy duty machines, or household & industrial applications. For safety reasons, it's recommended to use a Voltage Converter / Transformer that's max watts is at least 50% higher than your appliance. For example, if your appliance is rated at 1000 watts, you need to buy a Transformer with a max power of at least 1500 watts or greater. Some appliances, such as heating appliances, power tools, motors, laser printers and TVs, require 2-4 times more watts at start up than the printed rated wattage. Pros: This transformer is relatively small and is not as terribly loud as some I have dealt with, just a mild buzzing. When I was dumb and plugged in something that drew excessive power the fuse blew without causing damage. The unit shipped with a few extra fuses and all was well.
Cons: This is not quite powerful enough to power more than a few smaller items. Unless you have enough electronics to make up for the cost of the transformer it may be more worthwhile to simply purchase replacements.
Overall Review: I use this to power my coffee grinder, a hand mixer as well, a slow cooker and rice cooker. I would recommend this to those with similar collections of small electric appliances that can be used individually. I am not sure how well this would tolerate sustained use if it had to run continuously for extended timeframes. I don't know whether there is any potential to overheat or fail if heavily taxed.
