Acousti-Coat is a dense, soft coating engineered to function as a 'sound sponge', absorbing noise within the space or room where the sound originates. For sound emanating from other areas, utilize SC 1000. Applying Acousti-Coat reduces the sound your neighbors hear from you. Using SC 1000 reduces the sound you hear from your neighbors. Coverage is 50 square feet per gallon for the minimum two coats needed. This indicates that unless you are coating a small 50 square foot area, one gallon will be insufficient. ThermaCels are incorporated into this paint, delivering insulation properties. Do not introduce additional ThermaCels additive to this product. It features a white flat finish and can be tinted with universal colorants to light or medium shades. If a darker color is desired, it can be painted over, but a very inexpensive flat interior paint must be applied.
