how do I turn it on for heat?

To set the thermostat to heat mode: 1. Press the HOLD/END button until the HOLD icon appears to override the schedule. 2. To select the operating mode, press the H/C button to cycle through the available options: OFF, HEAT, COOL, and EMHT. (Note: EMHT—Emergency Heat—is only available on heat pump systems.)
