Can the lighting be set to white or is it just RGB?

Yes. The keyboard comes with a cheat sheet and on the back it shows that the volume knob is a physical button which can be pressed and cycles between volume, ctrl + mouse wheel for zooming in browser, and then lighting mode. You can cycle through over a dozen choices and then find a solid color mode. Then you can use FN + left/right arrow keys to switch it to white.
