Cherry began manufacturing the first microswitches in the basement of a restaurant in Illinois. 20 years later, the first keyboards were built - making CHERRY the oldest manufacturer of computer keyboards. In 1983, production of the MX switches began, which are now used billions of times in millions of keyboards around the world.
