Question 1

What is the actual size of the discs? Nowhere in the specs does it state this?

Accepted Answer

They aren't very big. They are mounted now but if I were to guess - 8 inch diameter.

Question 2

Does this work with trees or leaves in the line of sight; we only need 400 ft of range?

Accepted Answer

I use mine over a distance of about 300 meters to carry the signals of 4 x 4k security cameras plus a video intercom. Since the link was installed a bush (shefalea) has grown up to block the clear line of sight. I have refrained from trimming the bush since there is no indication of signal degradation. I can't say whether or not a forest or numerous trees would affect the signal. Hope this helps.

Question 3

What type of lightning protection is used with these devices?

Accepted Answer

We used shielded RJ45 connectors, and on the POE Injector there is a screw to ground the Injector as well.

If you're really paranoid I suppose you could get a PoE surge protector, however I do not have any experience with that.

Question 4

How many meter radius range?

Accepted Answer

These do not provide a radius of coverage, they are directional, like a flashlight beam, not a porchlight.
