DIMENSION: One Pair of 200lb. Heavy Duty Garage Door Extension Springs (Orange). These measure 25-Inch long at rest and 67-Inch long when fully stretched. They are designed for configurations on residential doors that are no higher than 7 ft. tall.
PACKING INCLUDED: One pair of Garage Door Extension Springs, one pair of Non-Slip Gloves, and Installation Instructions are included in the package, so you can start installing immediately after receiving the product.
HIGH QUALITY: Made from professional ASTM-A228 spring steel coils that have been heat-treated to ensure they have extremely high durability. The latest electrophoretic coating technology offers excellent corrosion resistance and tensile properties. Salt spray testing lasts up to 300 hours with a minimum of 16, 000 cycles (a cycle is 1 open & close of the door). You never need to maintain the spring, and your hands stay clean during installation.
DOUBLE LOOP ENDS: They are more sturdy than open loops, as there are two coils of the spring that connect to the eye-bolt and the pulley. We currently only offer double looped ends as we believe this is the best replacement option available (you can replace any end type with double looped).
IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended that you replace springs in pairs. Typically both springs are of the same age and wear; since one has broken, typically the second spring will reach the end of its cycle life and break soon as well. The newer spring will have more pull than an older spring, which will cause the door to open and close with an unequal amount of pull on both sides, potentially causing damage to the door and the garage door opener, and is unsafe. As the springs fatigue, they loosen and do not provide as much lift as a new spring. If you only replace one of two springs, the door may open unevenly and cause problems such as binding or rollers coming out of the tracks
