






What does this cable tester / wire tracer actually do?
It supports testing RJ45 / RJ11 / RJ12 cables, checking continuity and wire mapping, and tracing cables only when power is off. It does not support live cable tracing or PoE detection.
Why can’t it trace a live or PoE cable?
This tracer does NOT support live-line tracing. For safety and accuracy, PoE or any power must be disconnected before tracing. This is normal for non-powered cable tracers.
Why does tracing sometimes fail?
Common reasons include live power not removed, loose cable connections, damaged wiring, or heavy cable bundles causing signal interference.
Can I use it on AC mains wiring?
No. This tool is designed for low-voltage network and phone cables only. AC mains or powered lines must not be connected.
