As with all laptops these days the power adapter is included, however there is no DVD drive in this unit.

Seems like a silly question, but it's not listed in the specs.

Yes there is a headphone port.
It comes with Windows 8.1, which has been hard for me to use and, now that I've purchased, I hear soon may be replaced because of poor performance.
I LOVE the Acer computer itself, though.

sorry i dont have the answer for you, because i dont remember. i will say bought it for graduation for my daughter and she has yet to have any issues with the laptop. everyonr is quit pleased with it

It has a 15 inch screen, which feels larger than expected.  It is a little on the heavy side considering the aluminum case.  I'd say about 2.5-3lbs.

Plays Portal2 pretty smoothly at native resolutions - should probably manage most mainstream FPS pretty capably at medium settings.  Don't expect to push a 1080p panel with this.

No CD/DVD ! But external CD/DVD are very cheap now! Happy with this laptop !

I've noticed that two out of the group of respective buyers have felt that the internet connection abilities are terrible. Is that actually the case?

Yes i often have problems with my connection to the internet. Most of the time my Acer will run slow on the internet and also it take a while to load pages sometimes.

I see in the pictures that the laptop is missing a microphone port. How is it that we can get our headsets microphone to work with the laptop?

Use a microphone headset that has the microphone built into the 3.5 jack.
