Both disks can be used at the same time:
The PCIE+SATA to U. 2 adapter can be used at the same time, and it can be used on server motherboards that support U. 2 and SATA dual protocols, but only NVME SSDs can be used with 8643 to U. 2 adapter cables, and ordinary motherboards that only have a PCIE channel but not a SATA channel.
When the switch is flipped to NVME direction: NVME protocol lights up.
When the switch is flipped to the SATA direction: SATA protocol lights up.
NVME disk has NVME indicator, SATA disk has SATA indicator, this switch just switch NVME indicator to U2 connector or SATA indicator to U2 connector.
