This M.2 SATA to 2.5-inch IDE 44Pin adapter is a cost-effective storage upgrade solution for legacy IDE hardware. It replaces slow, fragile mechanical IDE hard disks with fast SATA M.2 SSDs to accelerate system startup and file access without replacing the entire vintage device.
It only works with SATA protocol M.2 SSDs featuring B Key or B+M Key; NVMe high-speed M-Key drives are not supported. All mainstream M.2 lengths from 2230 to 2280 are installable. The onboard bridge chip follows Ultra DMA IDE transmission standards and automatically converts the 5V power supply from the IDE interface to the 3.3V voltage required by M.2 SSDs, eliminating risks of unrecognized drives or sudden disconnection caused by insufficient power.
The whole PCB assembly follows standard 2.5-inch notebook hard drive dimensions, which can be directly inserted into the hard drive slot of old IDE laptops, industrial control equipment, cash registers and retro computers. Driver-free design supports Windows XP, Windows 7, DOS and multiple industrial Linux systems, and can be used as a system boot disk.
Matching fixing screws are included to firmly secure the M.2 SSD on the circuit board. Perfect for refurbishing vintage notebooks, retro gaming PCs, industrial PLC equipment and POS terminals to extend equipment service life with affordable solid-state storage.
