This M.2 SATA to 2.5 IDE 44pin adapter is a practical storage conversion accessory for legacy IDE desktop PCs and old notebooks. It lets users replace slow, failure-prone mechanical IDE hard disks with lightweight, fast SATA M.2 SSDs without overhauling the whole vintage device.
This adapter only recognizes SATA protocol M.2 SSDs with B Key or B+M Key. NVMe M-Key high-speed SSDs cannot be detected. It adapts all mainstream M.2 lengths from 2230 to 2280 for flexible capacity expansion. The integrated bridge chip complies with Ultra DMA IDE transmission standards, and the internal power conversion circuit stably converts 5V IDE input to the 3.3V power required by M.2 SSDs to prevent drive drop-out or recognition failure.
The whole adapter conforms to standard 2.5-inch notebook hard drive dimensions, which can be mounted into IDE desktop hard drive brackets or notebook internal hard drive slots. It works perfectly with Windows XP, Windows 7, DOS and industrial Linux systems without driver installation, and can be used as a bootable system disk.
Matching fixing screws are included to lock the M.2 SSD firmly on the PCB. Ideal for retro PC modification, old desktop refurbishment, industrial control equipment and POS machine storage replacement to boost running speed at low cost.
