This dedicated M.2 NGFF M-Key NVMe SSD converter card is tailor-made for 13-inch MacBook Pro released in late 2016 and mid 2017, covering three mainstream model numbers A1706, A1707 and A1708. It replaces Apples expensive proprietary factory SSD with affordable standard M.2 NVMe solid-state drives to expand storage capacity at low cost.

The adapter only supports M-Key PCIe NVMe SSDs in 2230 and 2242 dimensions; due to internal height limitation of the notebook, only single-sided chip NVMe SSDs are applicable, while SATA SSD, B-key/B+M-key M.2 drives and double-sided SSDs cannot work normally. It maintains complete native PCIe bandwidth to accelerate system boot, software launching and large media file processing without speed loss.

The PCB board matches the original SSD mounting position precisely, allowing direct plug-and-install without cutting or altering the laptop chassis. It supports bootable startup and runs smoothly on macOS 10.14 Mojave and all updated macOS systems, suitable for photography, video editing and daily office use to revitalize old MacBook Pro.
