This PCIe 4.0 x8 dual U.2 SFF-8639 riser expansion card is a professional high-bandwidth storage upgrade solution for servers, workstations, virtualization hosts and NAS devices lacking native U.2 ports. It occupies one PCIe 4.0 x8 slot and bifurcates lanes into two full PCIe 4.0 x4 channels, allowing two enterprise-grade 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe SSDs to run at their maximum theoretical bandwidth without performance throttling.
Equipped with dual standard SFF-8639 U.2 connectors, the adapter fully complies with NVMe protocol, supporting TRIM, S.M.A.R.T status monitoring and hot-swap function for convenient drive replacement without system shutdown. It is fully optimized for Intel VROC technology (VROC license required separately), enabling RAID 0 for massive sequential throughput or RAID 1 for critical data backup; it also works with motherboard-level software RAID on both Intel and AMD platforms for flexible storage pooling
The card adopts thickened multi-layer PCB and built-in signal shielding to eliminate electromagnetic interference from CPUs, GPUs and power supplies, delivering consistent low-latency I/O performance during 8K video rendering, database reading, virtual machine operation and continuous file storage tasks. The integrated full-height steel bracket ensures rigid fixation inside rack servers and desktop chassis, with reserved mounting holes for secure SSD placement.
System compatibility covers Windows 10/11, Windows Server series and mainstream Linux distributions with no extra driver installation required after physical mounting. Note that the motherboard must enable PCIe bifurcation (x4x4 mode) in BIOS/UEFI to recognize both U.2 ports simultaneously; without bifurcation, only the primary drive will be detected.
Ideal for enterprise data storage, post-production video workstations, AI computing rigs, rack-mounted file servers and DIY high-speed NAS array construction to expand high-capacity NVMe storage space.
