This MCP2221A breakout module is a versatile USB-to-peripheral converter built around the MCP2221A USB-I2C bridge chip. It converts standard USB connection into usable I2C bus, analog ADC channels and configurable GPIO pins, perfectly matching Stemma QT and Qwiic connector standards to support plug-and-play expansion of various sensor modules without complicated wiring. The board brings out all functional pins of the MCP2221A, allowing users to read analog voltage signals via ADC, control external switches/LEDs through GPIO, and communicate with I2C peripherals such as OLED screens, temperature sensors and EEPROMs. It can be directly recognized by Windows, MacOS and Linux systems without complex driver installation, and supports secondary development with Python, C and Arduino libraries. Mini-sized PCB design is suitable for IoT prototyping, sensor data acquisition, DIY electronic projects and rapid embedded testing.
