Question 1

DJI Mini 4 Pro or Air 3 for travel and better camera options?

Accepted Answer

Choose the Mini 4 Pro for a lighter, more portable drone with true vertical shooting and a standard-battery weight under 249 g. Choose the Air 3 if you want two cameras, including a medium telephoto camera, and longer stated flight time: DJI lists up to 46 minutes for the Air 3 and up to 45 minutes for the Mini 4 Pro with a Plus battery. The Air 3 weighs 720 g, and the Mini 4 Pro’s Plus battery takes it above 249 g.

Question 2

Should I get this Mini 4 Pro Plus bundle or the regular Fly More Combo?

Accepted Answer

Choose this Combo Plus if you want three Plus batteries and longer individual flights: DJI states up to 45 minutes per Plus battery, compared with up to 34 minutes for the standard battery. Choose the regular Fly More Combo if you prefer the standard batteries’ lower aircraft weight; DJI says the Mini 4 Pro weighs under 249 g with its standard battery, while the Plus battery takes it above 249 g. Both bundles include the RC 2 according to DJI’s combo descriptions.

Question 3

Is the Mini 4 Pro worth upgrading to from the Mini 3 Pro?

Accepted Answer

The Mini 4 Pro is a more compelling upgrade if you use automated tracking or fly near obstacles: it adds omnidirectional obstacle sensing, ActiveTrack 360°, and newer video options. The Mini 3 Pro remains a practical choice if its tri-directional sensing and existing camera capabilities meet your needs. Both models support a compact standard-battery setup; this Combo Plus adds three Plus batteries and the RC 2 controller.

Question 4

DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus or Mini 5 Pro?

Accepted Answer

Choose the Mini 5 Pro if you prioritize its larger 1-inch camera sensor and improved low-light capture. Choose this Mini 4 Pro bundle if you want three extended-life batteries and the RC 2 controller, or if keeping the aircraft below 249 g with its standard battery matters. The Plus batteries in this bundle extend DJI’s stated maximum flight time to 45 minutes per battery, but make the aircraft weigh more than 249 g; actual flight time varies with conditions.

Question 5

Does this drone have obstacle avoidance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Mini 4 Pro has omnidirectional obstacle sensing designed to detect obstacles around the aircraft. It can help reduce collision risk, but should not be treated as a guarantee against crashes.

Question 6

Is the Mini 4 Pro suitable for a first-time drone pilot?

Accepted Answer

It can suit beginners who are ready to learn flight controls and safety rules. Its omnidirectional obstacle sensing and Return to Home features can help, but they do not replace pilot attention or safe-flight practices.

Question 7

Will Return to Home bring the drone back if the signal is lost?

Accepted Answer

Return to Home can be triggered when the control signal is lost, as well as manually or when the battery is low. It returns to the recorded Home Point when positioning is working normally; check the Home Point and return altitude before takeoff.

Question 8

How much flight time do the three Plus batteries provide?

Accepted Answer

The combo includes three Intelligent Flight Battery Plus batteries, with up to 45 minutes per battery under controlled test conditions—up to 135 minutes combined across separate battery swaps. Actual flight time varies with conditions and use, so 135 minutes is not a guaranteed single-flight duration.

Question 9

Is the Mini 4 Pro a good choice for travel?

Accepted Answer

Its compact, lightweight design is suited to carrying on trips, but the Plus batteries may change the drone’s weight and applicable requirements. Travel discussions recommend checking the rules for each destination rather than assuming the same registration requirements apply everywhere.

Question 10

Can beginners rely on obstacle avoidance to prevent crashes?

Accepted Answer

No. Obstacle detection can provide assistance, but Reddit pilots warn that it may not detect every obstacle and should not be treated as a guarantee against collisions. Fly cautiously and do not rely on the sensors as a substitute for piloting skill.
