For those owners whose mount has a for SynScan handcontroller this functionality is available out of the box. Prior to SynScan V 3.01 the handcontroller had to be placed in a special "serial mode for this to work. For SynScan V 3.01 onwards the handcontroller is always in serial mode, and is always ready to talk with a serial connection. In this mode for SynScan unit provides the alignment and goto algorithms and must be configured with time, date and location. Some Planetarium may provide native support for Celestron drivers others may require the use for ASCOM platform and associated for ASCOM Nextstar drivers.
