It supports SFP+ SR/LR optical transceivers and SFP+ DAC/AOC, enabling flexible deployments from short-reach top-of-rack links to long-reach fiber runs. Network-virtualization and performance features include SR-IOV (VT-c), Flow Director, 9K Jumbo Frames, RSS/VMDq, and offloads for VXLAN/GENEVE/NVGRE/MPLS-NSH, along with IEEE 1588 PTP timingideal for virtualization, NFV, cloud, and storage scenarios. Many users also refer to this type of device as a PCI network adapter because it uses a PCIe interface. With both full-height and low-profile brackets, the card integrates cleanly into 1U/2U chassis and compact SFF systems; typical power draw is low, and remote boot via PXE/iSCSI is supported for diskless or automated provisioning workflows. Use SFP+ optics/DAC approved for X710-class adapters; for 1G operation, use supported 1000BASE-X SFP modules as listed by your platform vendor.
