This portpowered RS232 to RS485 serial converter offers reliable bidirectional halfduplex signal conversion between standard RS232 and RS485 serial interfaces. It extracts operating power directly from RS232 port signals, removing the need for separate power supplies and simplifying field installation in tight equipment cabinets and onsite industrial environments.

Integrated surge suppression and TVS transient voltage suppression components shield circuits from electrostatic discharge, lightning surges and sudden voltage spikes, greatly lowering risks of data corruption and hardware burnout caused by harsh industrial electrical interference. It supports baud rates ranging from 300bps up to 115200bps, and extends effective communication distance to maximum 1200 meters under proper wiring conditions, far exceeding the shortdistance limitation of native RS232 communication.

One side features standard DB9 female RS232 connector with locking metal thumbscrews to guarantee secure connection with host serial ports. The other side adopts practical terminal block terminals, enabling fast, clear cable wiring for RS485bus devices. It supports multidrop networking and can connect up to 32 RS485 slave nodes on one single bus line.
