Question 1

My host motherboard already has its normal 24-pin and CPU power connections. The RTX 4060’s auxiliary 8-pin will connect directly to the RM1000e’s PCIe cable. I am asking how to power the K43SG-BK-BK7 dock itself from this same PSU.Would you mind providing the exact product link and a labeled wiring diagram for your “24-pin to 24-pin + 8-pin splitter.” Where do the dock’s 24-pin and 4-pin inputs connect? Is the splitter’s 8-pin PCIe, CPU/EPS, or proprietary? If it draws GPU power from the incoming 24-pin, how does that avoid the connector-loading problem you described?

Accepted Answer

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your patience and for your detailed questions. We have physically inspected our current batch of the K43SG-BK-BK7, and I would like to provide a final, definitive clarification regarding the wiring. Please also refer to the attached product image for visual confirmation.

1. Correction on the Dock's Power Input:
Please disregard my previous mention of a "24-pin to 24-pin + 8-pin splitter" or a required 4-pin CPU connection. The actual K43SG-BK-BK7 unit you will receive only has a 24-pin ATX power input (as shown in the attached picture). It runs perfectly fine with just the 24-pin connected.

2. How to wire it with your RM1000e:
Since your motherboard already uses the main 24-pin cable, you will need a standard 24-pin Y-splitter cable (a generic accessory) to branch the power from your PSU to both the motherboard and the dock's 24-pin input. Set SW1 to 1 (auto-start).

3. Your GPU Power Plan is 100% Correct:
As you planned, connecting the RTX 4060's 8-pin directly to the RM1000e's PCIe cable is the best and safest approach.

By doing this, the dock's 24-pin only carries the 75W slot power, while the GPU draws its heavy power directly from the PSU. This completely avoids the connector-loading (overheating) problem I mentioned earlier. You do not need to use the dock's 8P_GPU output.

We apologize for the confusion in our previous messages and appreciate your technical understanding. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Question 2

For K43SG-BK-BK7 PCIe 5.0, can I power only 4P_CPU, leaving 24P_ATX disconnected, when the host motherboard and GPU use the same PSU? If not, is a fully wired 24-pin Y-splitter supported with SW1 set to 1?  I will certainly connect a dedicated power supply to gpu from psu also

Accepted Answer

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, using only the 4P_CPU connector while leaving the 24P_ATX connector disconnected is not supported. The 24-pin ATX connector is essential for the motherboard's main power supply and startup. Without it, the system will not boot.

We also do not recommend connecting the GPU and motherboard through the same 24-pin ATX connector for an extended period, as the high current load may cause the connector to overheat or become damaged.

Our recommended solution:
Please use a 24-pin to 24-pin + 8-pin splitter cable. Connect the motherboard directly to the 24-pin connector, and power the GPU's 8-pin connector separately through the splitter cable. This is the recommended and safer configuration.

Thank you for your understanding!
