It splits the slot into one physical x16 connector (electrically x8 at PCIe 5.0 ) and two M. 2 MKey sockets (PCIe 4.0 x4 each), letting you install a graphics card and two NVMe-compatible SSDs in a compact space without replacing your motherboard.
Critical BIOS Bifurcation Setting: This adapter relies on your motherboards PCIe bifurcation feature. To unlock full performance, set the target slot to x8x4x4 in BIOS.
If your board only offers: x8x8 Only the PCIe x8 slot and the rearside M. 2 (SSD1) are active. x4x4x4x4 The PCIe slot will run at x4 speed, but both M. 2 drives will work. No bifurcation Only the PCIe x8 slot is usable.
