Question 1

Does this monitor suffer from backlight bleed around the edge of the screen? How is the contrast for dark scenes? I'm thinking of buying but my MSI G27CR that I'm using now gives me pause, I wanna move up in quality too not just resolution

In my opinion it is extremely minimal.  If you stare at a the center of a perfectly white screen, I'd say 1/4 of the left/right edge is dark (not top or bottom for some reason).

Personally with how everything else I don't find it an issue because the only "white screens" i'm looking at are web pages and it has no effect (mainly because the screen is so big) on the ability to read/see things.

I'm an avid gamer and the default settings are pretty amazing.  But the "preset" settings are pretty terrible, if you like those kinds of things.
