The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless is a 2.4GHz wireless PC gaming headset with over 300 hours of battery life, DTS Spatial Audio, and a detachable noise-canceling microphone, suited to PC gamers who want long sessions between charges.
Recommended For
- PC gamers who play long sessions and want a comfortable wireless headset they can use for days between charges.
- PC and PlayStation gamers who want a 2.4GHz wireless connection for gaming and do not need Bluetooth or a wired audio fallback.
- Players who want an over-ear headset for extended gaming, with a detachable boom mic for in-game chat and voice calls.
- Gamers who prefer a bass-forward sound for games and general listening, rather than a strictly neutral audio profile.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- During long PC gaming sessions, the cushioned earcups and headband are suited to extended wear, while the wireless connection keeps the cable out of the way.
- For regular gaming without a charging routine, its unusually long battery life can mean going many sessions—and potentially weeks of typical use—between charges.
- In PC games where directional audio matters, players can use the USB wireless dongle and enable DTS Headphone:X in HyperX NGENUITY for a virtual surround-sound presentation; DTS setup requires the software.
- For Discord or in-game team chat, the detachable boom mic provides a convenient way to talk while gaming, though reviewers describe its sound quality as a weaker point and not ideal for polished streaming audio.
- Between games, it can serve as wireless PC headphones for music or other audio; the mic detaches when you do not need voice chat.
