Does this have the chip which supposedly makes it compatible with IOS 7?? I've read too many reviews which say a non-apple cable won't work on their iphone 5S or gives a warning message saying the cable is not an authorized cable.

It charges an iPad mini running iOS 7 just fine. I haven't used it (or my apple cable, for that matter) for anything other than charging, and I don't have an iPhone 5s to test.
