Is this an NVMe SSD or a SATA SSD?  Does it come configured as a cache for the HDD as well?

SATA and not sure on the cache configuration. I pulled the stock SSD out, put 2 512's in and set up a RAID 0 which works wonderfully.

Is there any way to gain easy access to the front fan filter screen in the front of the computer for cleaning?

The entire front piece does come off, it's held with with the plastic clips. I just pulled on it .

what model of the Intel Z270 motherboard , and gtx 1080 does this come with? also, is this SLI capable?

ASUS Prime Z270-K and MSI Armor OC 1080 - I'm not sure about the SLI capability, will need to look into that.
