Can you use this as always on and NOT use the sound activated mic?

Yes, the slider has an off, always on, and sound activation, as well as a mic sensitivity knob.

So, I'm considering something like this for my 3d printer, not so much for bling, but to light up the inside so I don't have to use a flashlight to inspect the print.  I see that it has a 12VDC input, but the only available outputs I have are 20VDC.  Will the included inverter drop the voltage to where it needs to be, or should I look for another product?

i would suggest looking for a different product unless you feel absolutely comfortable fiddling with a new converter. its intended for a molex cable inside a case so maybe find something intended for your purpose.

so I have a 1.5 clear case and I want to light it how do I keep adding on the strips??

If your wanting something you can add to I would look into something a lil more custom. With these types of lights the power supplies aren't gonna be able to power much more then just the one kit so for every cathode you'll need another power supply to run it.

how to i make it flicker to sound what do i buy or does it come with the thing that makes it flicker and if so how do i do it pl help?

the power module has a built in mic in it. you set a switch for it to work off sound. But it doesn't really work too well
