Is the game provided as a digital download or is a hard copy shipped with the GPU?

Digital download.  It was much more involved than I like.  It uses a service similar to steam but not as easy.  It was a three step process. 1) get the key from nvidia. 2) install and register on the download service. 3) download the game and register it with the service.  It is a fun game and a beauty to look at but the process of getting it makes it almost not worth it...almost.

is it just a code? is it a boxed copy? does it work with steam?

Yes it is just a code on a slip of paper.  You will need to download the game.  I think it was 23GB.  I didn't try it with Steam, I don't think it would work with that.  It makes you use the program Uplay which I think is a Ubisoft software.

Haven't had a chance to play the game yet, but I am sure it plays nice.

Question 3

Does this come with the card and is shipped with the card or am I supposed to get an email with the code right after I purchase it? I just recently bought it with a graphics card and I want to be sure nothing screwed up.

It ships with the video card, but it will be in the shipping box and not the GPU box. It's on a black and green square piece of paper and the code needs to be revealed through scratching off a silver portion. It gets redeemed on the Nvidia site.

Don't even bother with this so-called "free" game
After jumping through all the hoops of getting to where I could download the game then waiting four hours for it to download it would not start.
So I searched the forums and not finding any answers did a diag of my computer and typed up the question to Uplay's "help" department.
When I finished through all of that when I pressed "submit" nothing happened.
I spent over 6 hours trying to get this game and it was a dead end.
I have a high end system running win 8.1 with a gtx 770 and i7 processor
I think the whole "free offer" is just a fraud
Has anyone here actually downloaded this game and played it ?
Something wrong when you can't submit a question to the tech department

The process is long but the download does work. I will use up over 23+ gb.
1) go to www GeForce com/freeac4bf. leave off the http
2)Click on country
3)Middle of page, click on already have code (click here) link
4)Enter your info and the code on the ticket from your purchase and security code at bottom and click submit
5) it will generate an 8 digit code and will send it to your e-mail
6) follow the instructions from there.
7) when it gets to the part to purchase the product enter the promo code. Tho total price will now be &0.00
8) enter all your info. you don't have to enter credit card info if you don't want. it will still work.
9) download the ubisoft -- uplay, and create an account if you haven't already.
10) after you sign in to UPLAY, you should see the icon for the game in your library.
11) then click on install.
Like i said, the game takes up 23+ gb, big game.
I typed this from memory so i could be a little off on some details.
Read the instructions, they will guide you well.
All transactions are done from the GeForce site.
the download and install are done from the UPLAY.

Hi! Mine was automatically included in my shopping cart. I've heard others had some issues with this but have some positive resolution from contacting NewEgg customer service.

How long do I have to use the code before it expires, if it does at all?

Not sure. But it should be written on the little card they send with the new qualifying graphic card. I am not happy with it because in order to use the code you have to register with their online gaming service, download their software to download.

For some reason my download has been failing. I did not even finish downloading.

CD Code didn't work. Said activation key had been used by another account?

thats what happens when you register the cd-key. the "other account" is you.  just start up the game via the uplay client

Is the code redeemable on Steam or do you have to use Uplay?

Unfortunately it appears to get the game you have to use Uplay, when redeeming you get a code that you enter on Uplay's site that adds the game to a Uplay account. I didn't see any choice as to where to redeem or anything, so I'd assume it is a Uplay only copy of the game.

Code for the game says to go to "www(dot).geforce(dot).com/freeac4bf" to d/l When I try to access the site I get "access denied"
What is up with that ?

You have take the code you get at the Geforce site and go back to Ubisoft and "order" the game and enter the code that you got at the Geforce site. It took me a couple tries to figure out the convoluted process. What, you thought they would make it easy to get a free game?
