Is this a UPlay code or Steam code?  Can I activate it in/link it to my steam account if it is a uplay?
I know that the steam side says it will sync to uplay not sure if the opposite is the case tho.

It is a UPlay code. You cannot use it through steam. You can have it launch through steam as a non-steam game if you turn off the UPlay overlay in-game and set it up as you would any other non-steam game past that point. You -must- have a UPlay account to play and use this code. Your Steam friends list will not be active in UPlay. Be sure to add their UPlay names to your UPlay friends list if you plan to play with friends who have the Steam version.

No, you have to use nvidia link to redeem the code, but I am not sure if it will provide the download link or retrieve the activation code for the game.

can i play this with a gtx 780, or does the game need more memory of the 970?

According to Ubisoft, these are the minimum and recommended graphics card requirements. There are no grahics memory requirements provided.

Minimum:
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 with 2 GB VRAM (current equivalent NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760), AMD Radeon HD 7770 with 2 GB VRAM, or better

Recommended:
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, AMD Radeon R9 290, or better

How do I download this??? There is no indication whatsoever on uplay that i can see. I have it confirmed to my account but how do I play it? WHERE IS MY GAME?!?!???

You'll need to launch the application and select the Games tab in the upper left hand corner. Scroll through your list of available games, it'll be towards the bottom. Select the game. If you downloaded and installed the game properly, there will be a start button just below the game title. There is a Day 1 patch so that may auto-install first.
