open your newegg order history. if you qualified, you will see the Doom free gift . It will have a product key.

copy/paste that key into the nvidia app under Redeem tab. you must have a steam account aswell.

Why did i only get a skin and not the game?

Did you use the product key from your order history and/or email? If you didn't, you will only see the skin under the Redeem section in the Nvidia App. I only saw that at first and thought the same thing.
