Does it come with a adapter, for screw in type; to be used outdoors in place of flood lights?

No adapter included.  They are spot bulbs but way too small for an outdoor spot light.  Ours are in a trac light, each lamp focused on an a spot.  I would not reccomend them anywhere else.

Reading the "overview" description it says it has 3 pieces.... does that meant it comes with three complete bulbs or just that each bulb is an assembly of three pieces?

Each bulb is constructed with three LEDs. There is no assembly required.

My kitchen had 8 of these in track lighting. Originally, it had 50 watt halogen bulbs, but they generated a lot of heat - you could feel it on your skin if you stood in its beam.  So I had replaced the dead ones over time with 35 watts halogen bulbs, but heat was still an issue.

These LEDs produce more light than the 35 watt halogen - a lot more - and produce no felt heat.

Does this work with modern dimmers?

No, this lightbulb is not designed to work with modern dimmers. I would check out ones specifically noting they are dimmable such as this MR16 GU5.3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1EC0BZ4970 or this MR16 GU10 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3FB14F4630 make sure you get the one with the right connector. is this light UL listed or approved?

Yes, it is UL Listed and approved.  I purchased this light bulb, it was the first of the new bulbs replacing incandescent bulbs.  What I didn't know was the different way it attached.  I have not used this bulb because I do not yet have an adapter for it, and would appreciate anyone who has had the same problem and how did you solve the issue?

I have purchased some other bulbs from NeweggFlash, 60 watt and 40 watt, and they work beautifully. They light my home very well, and I especially like the long lifetime of the bulbs. I can't imagine not having to purchase too many more for 22.8 years, but I am loving not having to worry about a lightbulb going out anytime soon. I am impressed!
