Do these lights require a special dimmer switch or will a normal dimmer work?

I have it in an fixture with an older dimmer switch and it works fine.

what are the size measurements for this bulb? JP

It's about the same size and shape as a 100 watt incandescent, but of course doesn't put out the same amount of light. I use these in my outside lights that stay on all night and they work just fine. This brand will turn on instantly unlike some other brands I've tried.
