HEC 7106WW Beige White Steel ATX Desktop Computer Case

Pros: After reading a couple of reviews, I was leery of purchasing this case for building a new game system but it works just fine for my purposes. For some, the new long video cards will not fit, however my HIS Radeon HD 4850 fits with room to spare. This case is simple, it is strong, and with knowledge and experience you put anything you want in there and do anything you want with it. Most excellent.

Cons: Getting the motherboard in there took a little trick. The hard drive is actually situated in such a way that I had trouble getting the RAM slots on the motherboard beneath it. I will not be able to fill up the 4 slots because of how the hard drive covers the fourth one. This can be solved if necessary by simply rigging a larger bay to hold a hard drive. Also, the power supply was a tight fit, but just use your brain and you can get it in there.

Overall Review: If you take this to a LAN, no one will expect the beast that is within! I had limited desk space and I wanted something that I didn't need to sit on the floor, and would be easy to work on when necessary. You must be cautious when purchasing parts for a gamer machine. The video card slot on the MB I bought is lower than the HDD cage, so I don't have a space issue. If you need space for a lot of devices, you should consider another case but this case if great if you want to keep it simple and powerful. Parts used: ASUS M3N72-D AM2+/AM2 motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz, HIS Hightech H485QT512P Radeon HD 4850 512MB video card, Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB), RAIDMAX AURORA 2 RX-600F 600W. Think twice, buy once.

Overall Review: Correction: The manufacturer labeled the mounting holes for each form factor correctly, there were just some that my ATX motherboard didn't use. Sorry! Once again this case is excellent and I would highly recommend it!

Pros: This is a sturdy and well-built case. The steel is satisfyingly strong and the front panel (including the buttons on it) does not feel of low quality. For the most part, there are no sharp edges and I did not cut myself like I did on my previous case. Cooling is acceptable, though I would recommend cutting a hole on one of the sides and mounting a fan with fan grill for enhanced ventilation. Undetectable in the pictures, there is a rectangular hole (on the underside of the front panel) for the front 80mm fan mount, which is of a good size and brings in a decent amount of air with my 80mm fan. For me, this case is aesthetically pleasing and the LED's on the front panel are at a good brightness. Overall, I am very pleased with this case and give the manufacturer a five star rating.

Cons: This was my first time using a desktop-style computer case and I ended up taking the front panel off multiple times for various tasks. Before you assemble everything, plan out the order in which you're going to put each piece in (Example: Fans 1st, Motherboard 2nd, etc.) and also look around the inside of the case so you know where each front panel release is. Unfortunately for me, I discovered the hard way that you must use the metal standoffs (and the corresponding screws) that are included with the case, otherwise you may risk bending your motherboard and depending on the height of your standoffs (if you choose to try to use your own), the motherboard may be too low (or high) to correctly line up with the I/O plate. The manufacturer also incorrectly marked the holes for each motherboard form factor (at least for my ATX motherboard), so I recommend gently laying your motherboard down and marking off the mounting holes with a permanent marker. Overall Review: For the rest of the parts though, you can use your own component securing hardware, and you may need to drill the fan holes bigger depending on your fan. The cons for this case are very minor and can be avoided by implementing my advice. Again, this is an outstanding case!

Pros: Met my needs. Good construction.

Cons: Long distance from drive bays to far side of the motherboard.

Overall Review: I was building my first and wanted the most room for anything I may want to add. The removable hard drive bays were needed to allow me to mount the two hard drives without interfering with the memory cards. The three front accessible bays are at the far right side opposite the power supply in the back, but a good 12 inches from the far side of the motherboard... OK for now but may be a problem when I add more front accessible drives. Overall a good case, especially for the money.

Pros: Its beige, has lot's of room, well made, and it was cheap. Matches my old Pentium 1 .

Cons: No fans included. Hard to find a beige dvd burner. The new intel stickers are significantly smaller than the indent on the case...

Pros: Very compact relative to my Raidmax Aeolus case and it fits a full sized graphics card (Nvidia GTX560 Ti) within it. I have a Phenom X4 970 Black Edition CPU in this rig right now and it is just awesome. Runs SWTOR on highest settings easily. This is not too heavy to carry around either.

Cons: It gets very hot due to its compact size. I played SWTOR today for 8 hours straight and it was toasty but I installed the 2 back fans which helped a bit. It may not fit huge cooler and I had to remove the bridge from the case during installation.

Overall Review: The coolest retro 1980's gaming desktop case that you can find. Now I just need an Atari sticker.

Pros: Cheap. I needed a case for an atx server motherboard. No add-on cards, and two 3.5" HDs. This seemed to fit the bill.

Cons: The sheet metal was not engineered to proper tolerances. I could NOT get the ATX power supply to slide into place - the lip at the edge of the case was a *bit* too tight. I had to bend it up a tad with pliers to slide the PS in, and even then it did not fit all the way in straight, so only 2 of the 4 screws could attach. The HD drive bay did not want to go back on either (only 1 of the 3 screws would fit in afterward).

Pros: looks great old school grey. Has plenty of space and does simply the job. Hard to find a case like this these days to build up a retro DOS machine.

Cons: none
