How dust proof is it?

There is a dust cover over every intake. So as long as you're running positive pressure inside the case there is absolutely zero dust.

However, if you're running negative pressure there will be some dust coming the back of the case through any PCI slots not being used. Although, that can be said for any case running negative pressure.

Where do the front fans get air from?

Where the "Phanteks" logo is on the bottom, there are vents behind the front panel. There are also vents at the top which you can actually see.

Does this case come with fans? Or will I have to buy those separately?

highly recommend you buy fans for the front of the case.  as it realy needs something pushing fresh air across the board. as the air doesn't move well with just the rear fan.

How silent is the 400S version of this tower?

I don't have exact decibels, however, from my own experience it's pretty darn quite. In this case I currently run a i5 3570, with a Corsair H60 aio cooler using the pull/push method. I'm also running it with a GTX 660ti (MSI). Previously I was using a GTX 970. And with both I was getting very low sound. Honestly, if it weren't for the monitor, and the LEDs in the case, I would barely even know that this PC was turned on. I did switch out a couple of the fans that came with the case for aesthetic purposes. The fans themselves that came with the case were fine when they were originally in there however.

TLDR; This is a very silent case with the stock fans that come with it (this is barring any cooler you plan to use for the CPU).

Question 5

What are the colors that this case illuminates? I want to know if orange is one of the colors.

It can light up any color you want as long as you have it hooked up the a motherboard with an RGB plug. Some Asus motherboards have it but note you do need a cable from Phantek as well to hook it up that way.

How feasible would it be to use two GPU's in this case?

How well does this case perform with strictly air cooling? I am planning on purchasing this with an additional 2 x 140mm case fans.

It does very well. You could put those new fans in the front of the case. And move the stock fans to the back and top of the case. I still haven't even bought new fans to add to my case. I use just the two stock ones and I usually stay under 60c.

How does the fan controller connect to the mobo/fans?

I just don't use the fan controller, instead using mobo software to control them. Other than by listening to the fans (which isn't easy with this case), there is no way to tell what fan setting you have set it to.

Question 9

Does the dampening material (foam) affect cable management like with the NZXT H440? Also, does the silent edition have the top filters like the non-silent edition?

The damping material is pretty thin. I'm not sure about the H440, but the fractal Define R4 was thicker and made things more difficult. I did have to squish a bit, but it was easier than the R4. The silent edition does come with two magnetic filters for the top if you choose to remove the plastic pieces.

Question 10

Is the case's RGB lighting compatible with the AURA RGB LED header on the newer ASRock Z270 boards? Specifically, I'm looking at the Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6 for a new build. Phanteks' website lists ASUS Aura Sync and MSI Mystic Light Sync, but not ASRock.

No, the RGB function is not programmable. There is a button by the front IO that lets you select from I think 10 different colors. It's a static color so there are no effects like fading or rainbow or anything like that either.
