Can you flip this around to have a 120mm to 140mm?

It looks like that should not be a problem.  You may or may not have to run to the hardware store if standard screws do not work for what you are doing.

I used them to mount two Gentle Typhoon 120mm 5400 rpm fans ,in push pull, on a Corsair Hydro Series H90 140mm radiator.

Would this be able to support a liquid cooler like an NZXT Kraken 40?

Yes, it would. I bought this adapter specifically for the Kraken x40 to fit in my rear 120mm fan port on my NZXT Phantom (full tower). However, I was only able to mount this by attaching the fan adapter to the 120mm fan I already had and the the 140mm side of the adapter to the Kraken's 140mm fan, and then attach the cooler itself to that 140mm fan. So it does become one large piece of components all attached to the rear fan port but hey, it works. (The order of parts was 120mm fan-->fan adapter-->140mm fan--> cooler). In order to fit my Kraken x40 though, I had to slightly bend certain part of my case near the rear fan port but it is hardly noticeable. If you or someone were to have fitting problems, just look for where bending the case outwards would be necessary.

Plastic PVC material is about 1/16 and adapter is about 1/2 thick. Works great on case rear fan location. Use to add fan behind the case 120 fans for push-pull fan combo. I use slower speed fans for less fan sound. Have installed several with good results.

Can I use this to mount an NF-F12 on a 280mm rad in push/pull or will be there any fitting or compatibility issues, Im afraid it'll be wide that the fans will hit each other and won't fit??
