Is this internal or external?

It can be either or, the purpose that I used this device was to run 2 external fans on the cabinet to pull the hot air and keep the temperature at a acceptable level. I kept the device inside the computer case on the Workstation. But using the extensions you could easily keep it outside the case.

Question 2

I have 5 case fans but only 3 fan plugs on the MoBo, how would this work in my system?

Depending on the depth of your case between the back of the motherboard tray and the right side panel. you could mount the hub on the back side  of the motherboard tray and run your fans to it. Depending on location of fans and size of the case, you might have to get some 3-pin extensions for it to work. My nephew has a hub in his case that I installed for him and he runs all 9 fans off of it.  His hub is mounted on the backside of his motherboard tray. I hope this helps. Just to let you know that this is a very reliable product.

How is it connected inside?

It comes with 3m Velcro tape. It's not regular velcro but a stronger kind of some sort. But you attach the hub to the inside of the case somewhere.

Then you take can connect the hub to your power supply using a 4 pin molex to 3 pin fan pigtail that comes with the unit. It plugs into the 3 pin female port at the bottom of the hub.

Then you connect the rest of your 3 pin fans to the left and right sides of the ten port hub. It comes with a 4 pin to 3 pin adapter I think as well.

Is there anyway I can use a SATA to power it?

I don't believe so. It comes with a molex connection. It works just fine with the connection that it comes with. Unless you can find a way to adapt it to uses a sata power connection. I hope this helps you.

ARE THE OUTPUTS OF THIS HUB MALE OR FEMALE? I NEED FEMALE AS ALL MY FANS HAVE MALE CONNECTORS.

I would consider these male connections because the hub is the the part with the pins that stick out but if your fans plug into a normal atx motherboard without an adapter they will plug into this because most motherboards have male connectors on them but if your were looking for an adapter sorry but probably won't work for that

Is it possible to plug this into a motherboard fan header to control the RPM on the connected fans?

Not that im aware of but please get some 3m tape or something the adhesive velcro they gave with it sucked bad

Do the fans run at full speed or can you adjust them using this?

This has no speed adjusting function. The NZXT Grid is just meant to make it easier to organize the cables for all of your fans, essentially.

Do I power this hub by doing the following:
PSU-Molex to the Cable that comes with it,then plug that into the hub?

Does this supply power to the fans or does it allow fan speed control ability to the fans?

If you run the input power for this thru a fan controller you could have all attached fans at the same speeds (be sure the controllor can handle the power).

Question 10

Is it possible for me to take the housing apart, and double side tape it to the back-plate of my case, so it's out of site? I'd like it better if this was out of site, and I don't know if I have enough room to just put this on the back-plate.

This doesn't come with any housing, so you could easily do so.
