Pros: Don't order this cable by mistake if you think you can hook 2 fans together and plug it into your mobo header. This will not work for that. The proper cable then is: Link Depot brand, 3 pin Fan Power Y Cable model POW-ADT-3PY, #N82E16812189063 (at $1.39 each).

Cons: Need to carefully look at the plugs, this one has 2x female ends and only one male end, opposite of what you'd need for 2 fans to one header.

Overall Review: As several others have mentioned, make sure this is the cable you want. It draws power from two fan ports on a mobo and provides it to one fan, instead of taking power from one port and splitting it among two fans.

Pros: I needed a cable that would allow me to plug in 1 fan to both my fan controller for powering it and into my motherboard as to read the RPM's. One perfect use for this cable is just that. You simply need to cut the red wire on the one going to the motherboard because there is no need for the motherboard to power it because it will be drawing from your fan controller.

Cons: NONE - I knew this was the cable I needed when I ordered it :P Read my note below. Regarding the possible intended purpose for this adapter, though I needed it for the above use that I have indeed tested, I believe below is it's intended purpose though I have not tested it as I use a fan controller to power my fans.

Overall Review: I believe the intended purpose for this adapter is, high end fans require more amperage, and if your not going to use a molex connector to power them, than this will allow your fan that otherwise couldn't be powered correclty by one 3 pin connector to draw the amps from 2, 3 pin connectors. Pay attention both to what the amp requirements are of the fans, not just the volts, and take note of the amps the motherboard is putting out, if multiplied by 2 is roughly what the fan requires then bob's your uncle. If you noticed the wireling is is parallel wiring, meaning all wires are paired up with the same color. This means that by hooking the fan into 2 power position on the motherboard does not double the voltage, but rather the amps, the voltage will remain at 12 volts. If they were wired in a circuit (red/black, black/red) then you would be trying to draw 24 volts and ultimately hurting your motherboard. This way you are increasing the available amperage, but leaving the volts at 12.

Pros: Can't think of any. This was not the cable I wanted.

Cons: This cord, as another reviewer stated, has no feasible use whatsoever. Connecting 1 fan to two Motherboard headers is useless and hazardous to the hardware.

Overall Review: Misread the product description. Was looking for a 2 fan on 1 header connector, not this. The actual build quality and craftsmanship of the product was top notch and on par with what Rosewill normally offers. I was impressed in that regard.

Pros: Nicely built, I should have looked closer as I thought this was a y to hook two fans to one header, wrong. Its fot hooking 1 fan to two headers. Oh well, maybe I will find a use one day.

Pros: 2 female connectors. 1 male connector. I needed some of these so I could plug one female connector to my fan controller and the other female connector to my motherboard. That gives you one male connector to plug in your fan. I followed the advice of other reviewers and cut the red wire on the connector I used for the MB. My fan controller powers the fan, and my MB (bios) detects my fan speeds. Perfect!

Cons: I wanted to order 3-4 of these. I apparently bought the last 2 available. I hope that they get more of these! I might have to try and make my own if they don't!

Pros: I looked all over for such a y-fan adapter, and this was the only one I could find. It works great. I have three in my system hooking up the fan speed controller from my power supply as well as my two 3-wire Chassis fans. This adapter allows me to hook up my fans to both the motherboard and an Aerocool Easywatch fan reader. The fan reader displays the fan speed (it doesn't have manual controls). The motherboard is able to control the fanspeed (ASUS Crosshair IV motherboard)

Cons: I wish they had a four-pin model so that they could be used with PWM fans
