Why does my monitor Asus 248QE say "no signal" when I hook this up and reverts back to DVI? Is there a setting domewhere?

Occasionally mine does that as well. What worked for me was I unplugged the power adapter from the monitor and outlet as well, and about a minute, plug it back in and It should work after that.

I just received this and the package says support resolution up to 2560x1600. does it support 4K?

Yes it does I'm using the same cable for my 4K monitor
