does it allow telephone line to connect to it?

No, it has no phone jack, aka RJ12 plug. I have 2, and they are awesome! First USB is for Apple fast charge  iPhone 5-6, iPad retina exc..... The second USB port is for the standard charging products, iPhone 1- 4s, android exc.... All the other plugins support both fast charge and the standard. Its also a searge protector. It lights up green for good, and then lights up red when it has been blown. People come over to my home and don't even notice it untill there phone starts to die and then ask me to charge there phone. So fare every one loves it that comes over!

Question 2

Is it compatible with 220 Voltage as input?

I do not think so as it has the standard  USA 3 male prongs on the back that are inserted into the wall outlet.  These male prongs on the back are to be inserted into a female outlet identical to female outlets that are shown in the picture.   Those 3 prongs would not fit into any 220V outlet that I am familiar with.
   
Yes, you may be able to buy an adapter that will convert the 3 male prongs into a 220V plug version.  But I doubt that the USB power supply inside the unit is capable of handling 220V -- unless the manufacturers data says that it will -- and I do not think that it says that.

Question 3

I wanted to use this on a split switched receptacle (one plug switched and one always on).  Will this still work?  Will some of the plugs be switched?

Whatever the top receptacle is switched or unswitched is what all of the receptacles in this tap will be.  The tap is only energized by the top receptacle of your wall receptacle.  Hope this helps.

Will this work if I plug a 850W computer to it and a monitor?

I don't see why no, the device is rated at ten amp 1800 watts. I have a 1200 watt heater working on one of mine without any heating problem. Good product I have ten of these units.

Question 5

How likely is this to burn my house down?  I assume all loads are split off of a single outlet?  What is the average load from 6 devices and a tablet?  Enough to blow a 10A cirucit?

I have a desktop computer with 2 hard drives, 125W processor, 8gbs of ram, & dvd player; plus a 19" LCD monitor, electric air pump for an air mattress, IPAD 4 2.1A charger and a Samsung 2.1A charger for a Galaxy Note 3 running off this without any issues in my office for the last 9 months.

Can someone tell me if plugging this, "6" outlet surge protector, expander, into only "1" wall tap/plug/outlet feeds it less power vs. being plugged into 2 wall receptacles?  Hope that made sense?

Being a licensed Electrician and having wired many receptacles,  take a look at the back of this item and you see that it uses only ONE  side of the original receptacle.   So now you have Six items plugged into only one side.   I would rather have one that would have a double plug on the back of it to distribute the load evenly.

This unit is 5 1/4" in length by 3 3/4" in width.

Question 8

In the specs it states "36,000 Amps (3 line total)". Does that mean that only three of the six receptacles hold power surge capabilities?

All six receptacles are surge protected.  The surge protector itself will be able to handle the same load as the receptacle it is plugged into, should be a 15 or 20amp circuit.  This is what you should be concerned with.

Hi - are all of the receptacles surge protected or only three of them?

As far as I know all 6 outlets are protected, but I really have no way to test it.  The description on the Newegg site does say 6 outlets.

Is there any coverage should it fail and electronics are damaged?

I don't know.  I'm pretty sure it's NOT of the same quality or have the level of protection of the bigger & better units.  I'm assuming you essentially get what you pay for with electronics.
