Is the voltage regulated?
Do i get 7v using a 7v adapter like i do with a atx psu?

It seems to work like a charm for that purpose.  I am currently using one to power a 10k sata drive in a poweredge r710 (has an additional sata slot, but no molex power connectors, so I hacked this together).  Looks a little weird running the power through the back, but it's been running 24/7 like that for about 8 months now!

The *only* reason you'd want to purchase this PSU is when you need both 12V and 5V. If you only need 12V for your fans, you can get a cheaper and much more powerful 12V/5A for the same money!

Question 4

Input is the same, but my present output is 19.5V 4.62A which is different from this adapter. Does that matter?

i would say the 19 is a bit high usually with electronics/electrical you want a +/-10% some have a smaller tolorence the 4.62vac would probably be fine. you may try to test with a different meter to see if you get a different reading.

Is it possible to splice the wire going from the molex connection to the power supply to swap out for a larger ampage converter? I am trying to run 3 delta fans and this power supply cant handle more than 40 percent on each fan. Thank you.

Question 6

Has anyone tested actual output? I need to power 8 fans. They are: 2.4W at .2A Each. I could technically get 2 supplies, but if one will work..Id rather save that money for the fans.

I would use two of these adapters, because running two 120mm 12v fans that draw .75 amps each I noticed the fans were not running at their max. rpms and the adapter would get a little hot, so I decided to run one adapter for each fan. I would say it works best if it doesn't have to power over 1.0 - 1.25 amps. Hope that helps.

Can this be used to power 1 or more 3.5 inch hard drives?

I don't see why not. I'm powering two 5v server fans with just one of them. Any more than 2, the fans don't perform as well. But keep in mind I'm powering fans, not hard drives.
