If I buy a set of these, can I plug them straight into the power supply or not?

Jaineek P: Please read the title and you have your answer, they are EXTENSION cables, which means you plug your cables into them, so you keep your psu cables hidden behind the case  and the only cables seen are the pretty white EXTENSION cables from Silverstone.

Can I plug this into the 4 pin on my motherboard, or is it for something else?

Yes this is your CPU power cable that goes usally on top left of your mother board. If you have a 4 pin you are fine, but it does support an 8 pin as well.
