I'm looking to connect my Corsair 750W Modular power supply to an XFX R9 280 Graphics Card.  Instructions call for 8 pin to 8 pin and 6 pin to 6 pin direct connection - will this work for my 6 pin to pin direct connection?

No it didn't work for me. I was buying this for my graphics card too but when I tried to hook it up the pins didn't fit. So either I bought the wrong type of connector or the manufacturer didn't design the pin correctly. So I wouldn't buy this if ur gonna use it for a graphic card connector.
