Does this work for SSD cloning?

During my research for this product throughout the web, I saw quite a few reviewers say they had used it to clone their hard disk to an SSD. I have copied hard disk partitions to an SSD with it, but I have not tried cloning.

Question 2

Is this adapter for 2.5 HD only, or it could work with 3.5 SATA disks as well?

The device comes with an AC Adapter that provides 12V 1.8A. That should power most 3.5" SATA drives. I tested it with one of my Seagate 1TB 3.5" hard disks and it seemed to work well. One unusual thing is that it put the drive to "sleep" when I left it unattended, it wakes when you access it.
My drive did not power up until it was connected to a USB port, even though I connected the power adapter first. My SSD worked fine without the AC Power Adapter, I just connected it to one of the USB 3.0 ports.
I've only had it a short time, but it seems to work as advertised, it's as fast as the USB port's maximum speed for fast devices.

Would this work with an external Bluray drive?

Short answer: I don't fully understand your question.

Long answer: If you're asking if this device can be used to connect to a drive and plug its USB port into a Blu-Ray player, then I would bet  it would work. When this device is used to plug a hard drive, SSD, etc. into a computer, the computer recognizes it as basically a big flash drive. That said, assuming your Blu-Ray player accepts flash drives, this device should work just fine when using it to connect a drive to it.
