does this item work with Mac platform?

I don't have a Mac but headed to the local BestBuy, took my adapter here with a HDD, ask for help and this guy came over and I asked if I could test my adapter and HDD to see if the Mac would be able to work with my parts, he hesitated but in the end he let me plug it in the USB. Unfortunately nothing ever happened, the drive was spinning but nothing pass that and after 5 mins nothing still. So I would have to say that the adapter is not compatible.

Now, could there be a way to make it work? I'm not sure, I wasn't able to conduct any other test so unfortunately  I can only say that it didn't work.

Question 2

Anybody having constant disconnect problems with drives 3TB in size and formatted with GPT? I can't get my HDD stay connected. Using it with Renesas USB3.0 card.

I had similar problem earlier. I was using an extension cable (6') to connect to the back of my USB 3.0 port. Once I got rid of the extension cable, I no longer had the problem. You may want to pay attention to the USB 3.0 cable length. Good Luck!
