I'm wanting to use this in a Dual-mode display port to transmit video with audio (from a new HP Notebook with no HDMI port) to a HD Television.  Can someone confirm that "Dual-mode" refers to the ability to transmit Audio with Video to an external device? Does this adapter work for that purpose?

I am able to send audio and video over this adapter to HDMI, however the real concern would be does your Laptop support Dual-Mode?

would this be able to help me use my laptop as a screen for my xbox one? i know its possible to just stream the xbox to my laptop but ive had some very annoying lag issues with that and it disconnects often and was wondering if there was just a straight forward way of turning my laptop screen into a monitor

I've done it with a different adapter, DVI to HDMI but not woth this adapter. i dont have a display port monitor. really would depend on the monitor port being male or female.  i not positive but i don't see why this would not work two way.
