Does this adaptor support 1920x1080?

I have a monitor that has only HDMI and VGA input, and my videocard has 2 DVI outputs.  The monitor supports 1920x1080.

I'm no expert, bought my cable as the hdmi output on my video card would not connect to my lcd large screen tv. However, I have no idea what resolution it is connected at, just know it works far better than the vga connector I was using to the tv's computer input.  Again, no expert, but believe the video card has more to do with setting resolution than the cable might. I believe tv's have an EIDI software that communicates with the video card, through the cable, and that is how best resolution is determined. I would find out if my monitor has such EIDI, that might help determine if it would work for you. Sorry I could not give a more definitive answer to your query.

I have a cable box that has HDMI output but the monitor I bought to watch it with is DVI. Is this the right cable for HDMI out on the box and DVI in on the monitor?

This was the reason I purchased the cable.  The cable box had HDMI out and my older computer monitor had DVI.  I added a separate audio cable and I was in business.

Will this cable work with a dvi-I outlet. My video card has a dvi-I outlet and my monitors have hdmi outlets, but I can't seem to find a dvi-I to hdmi cable. Will this dvi-d to hdmi cable work for a dvi-I outlet.?

DVI-D connectors carry a digital-only signal and DVI-I adds four pins for analog capability. Both connectors can be used with a single-link or a dual-link cable, and with HDMI depending upon the requirements of the display.

Will this cable allow audio to pass through on a NVIDIA or ATI graphic card that allow audio pass through on DVI ports ?

You'll need to use an adapter specific to your card for that.

Cards that support audio passthrough on DVI ports depend on a signal from an adapter to put the DVI port in audio-over-DVI mode, and AMD/ATI and nVidia do this in different ways.

DVI and HDMI signals are electrically compatible, but the DVI specification does not provide for audio transmission, so audio-out on the DVI port is disabled by default on cards that support this feature to ensure compatibility with DVI-only displays. The proprietary adapters let the graphics card know that the display device is well and truly an HDMI device and that it is therefore OK to send audio as if the DVI port were an HDMI port.

Look up some threads on your favorite audio and video science forum about this issue; you'll find some suggestions on third-party adapters for this purpose as well.

DVI connections provide video signal only, no audio. Monitors without HDMI or Display Port connections require a separate audio cable.

I have low vision and want to hook a large screen tv to my computer so I can see the print. Will this cable do this for me?

It depends on your connections on the monitor and computer. According to the picture It converts from DVI (Left Connector) to HDMI (Right Connector).
If you have DVI on the PC and only HDMI on monitor then this is the cable you use otherwise just get DVI only cable. Most monitors have multiple input types.
 If your PC & Monitor have HDMI, then it is cheaper to just use an HDMI cable especially the longer the cable gets.

Only problem Ive had with these type cable is that you have to deal with it under scanning which requires adjustment through the video software to fix it.

This connector has the full sized HDMI connector.  Type A.

This is NOT the mini (type c) or micro (type d) version.

Since this cable doesn't fit, the class doesn't matter.  However, Class 3 is a rating for cables over 300 volts.  As HDMI cables only have 5 volts, a 5 volt HDMI Class-2 cable actually meets Class-3 specifications - but will still be called and labeled a CLASS 2 cable.

If your mac mini has a full size HDMI out put and your monitor has a DVI input then yes it will work.  A quick look at a picture of the mac mini looks like it has a full size HDMI port, so yes this will work (given your ACER monitor has a DVI input).
