does anyone know if this unit will work with a ROKU 3 to pass audio to my AV Receiver using TosLink? have tried brand X, and would not work no matter what i do.

I don't use it directly from my Roku but I connect it to the TosLink output on my TV and then to my receiver. You can use an adaptor to convert a single stereo jack to two RCA plugs. Works great.
