This seems odd, to me, because display port is supposed to support 4096x2160@60Hz. I need a display port cable which will support 4096x2160@60Hz.

Can someone verify whether this cable supports only 2560 or if it actually does support 4096 - and at what refresh rate?

Different standards apply for different versions of displayport. See wikipedia for displayport for extended information.

I've only used 1920x1080. I don't know which version the cable actually supports. In part it probably depends on when the cable was designed...there is a possibility that the cable works at higher resolutions, but if that resolution did not exist when the cable was designed, you'll have to try it to know. This cable has been around awhile, so it isn't possible for it to intentionally support newer resolutions.
