Question 1

Has anyone used this cable with a high end gaming system and monitor? Running at 144 ? Is it VESA certified? 1.1 or 1.2?

I have used it for a year or more between my Dell UltraSharp LED monitor and my Dell XPS laptop.  I do play games but don't know whether or not they are "high end".  Can't answer the rest of your questions.  However, the cable works great for everything I do.  Maybe this will help you a little; I'm not a techie but rather a user.

Would anyone know if I can use this cable compatible with the acer XB280HK (4k UHD) and a mac mini late 2014?

I'm using this cable right now with a Late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina and a Dell P2715Q 4K monitor, and it works fine. However, the MBPR has better graphics capabilities than the 2014 Mini. It will be the graphics of the computer that determines whether the 4K monitor is supported, not the cable. Check the 4K monitor pages of Apple's support site. Good luck!
