Easy to setup mobo.

Pros: -Love the ease of install of computer hardware.
-Fast and reliable.
-LOTS of potential for upgrade. It's why I bought this mobo.

Cons: -Still haven't found any.

Overall Review: If you're looking for a good build, definitely give this a go. The MSI "optimizing" function could use some optimizing itself though.

Fairly good board when it works...

Pros: supports the newer intel chips. Plenty of space, over clocking features are there. Expandabilty seems good on this board and when it's running, it is fast.

Cons: Buggy. Customer service is nightmare. Updating my firmware killed the board. Customer service has no advanced replacement option. First time I flashed my bios, system didn't turn on any more, after troubleshooting and testing, I had to call customer service. with shipping the board took OVER A MONTH to get back. 2nd time, updated the firmware, followed directions TO THE "T", system rebooting in 5 seconds....Never turned on again. Gone for another 2 1/2 weeks. Customer service was no major help, didn't really troubleshoot, just said, send it in and WAIT more. Just got it back the other day and beyond ticked off at the experiance.

This is my primary system, my other computer is a slow tablet, so I dont have a good enough system to replace it.

Last time, it killed one of my memory chips. Would NEVER buy another MSI motherboard again. $300 board and I got this type of support ? Had the board for about 6 months and it's been in support for over 7 weeks....a joke in every way.

Overall Review: If you get this board running good, dont update firmware. I would personally avoid, ASUS has advanced exchange option. I had a problem with my last ASUS board, I had a replacement board in 2 days. MSI 2-3 weeks AT LEAST. I will re-think my brand when I build my next gaming machine and you should too.

Good Board MSI

Pros: Board has been rock solid no issues so far with this board. I was an Asus fan for years until my last few purchases with them and the quality has gone down hill, Board is easy to setup and the quick boot options allow my PC to load fully into 8 with Raid 0 SSDs in like 6 secs from cold boot :)

Cons: Haven't found one yet...

Overall Review: Looks like MSI has a new fan boy!

Great while it lasted

Pros: Great features, tons of room for components and upgrades, supports great memory standards and the best current processors from intel.

Cons: The layout is in all honesty.... poor. The usb 3.0 for the front panel is in a horrible location on the front edge of the board and it creates a ton of cable clutter being right there with the sata's and the power 24 pin.

Biggest con through is after a month my pc strangely started just randomly crashing. Not BSOD, straight up crashing as if it lost power. Resetting power cables, checking connections seemed to resolve it. Two weeks later it happened again but a simple boot into safe mode and some diagnostic tests fixes it. A month later and I think I have a power issue as it is becoming common. I replace my APC, no change. Maybe it is something in a windows update or anti virus? System restore no go. Perhaps it is bad memory, memtest says no. Finally I outright buy a new power supply thinking this has to be it. I even change out all the cables and re run them with the new cords on the off chance it was a bad psu power cord. No joy.

Here a little over 3 months after purchase this mobo will not only not post, it won't even power on in the first place past some activity lights on the ethernet port. MSI's response? Enjoy a 1-3 week RMA process where we may just send this same board back and might even charge you for a new one.

Overall Review: I have used MSI boards almost exclusively since I started building pc's something like 15 years ago. This is the first one I have had be a complete bust. I haven't lost faith in them but I will say you may want to shy away from this one for awhile until it seems more revisions.

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2), clear CMOS.
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. For best result, ensure you have update BIOS and drivers for the motherboard provided from our MSI website. www.msi.com
4. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Love this Mobo

Pros: Great for overclocking. I could go into all the little details as to why I love this board, but if you like to tweak and overclock this board is superb. Whoever designed this board obviously has years experience doing so, because it's the little things that matter. A clear CMOS button on the I/O panel, for instance, is so nice for when your OC fails. Sure beats opening the case and moving a jumper or taking the battery out. I could go on and on, but this board is just awesome.

Cons: I can't think of any cons.

Overall Review: This is the first MSI board I've ever owned, and I absolutely love it. I was on the fence between this and one of the X99 Asus boards. I'm so glad I came to my decision, I haven't been this happy with a motherboard in a long time

MSI For the Win

Pros: Amazing Bios interface. Easy one click overclocking for dummies, advanced settings for hardcore OCing, and all around great features.

Cons: Only Con I have is if I use the "MSI Fast Boot" with Windows 8.1 I get a blue screen on startup. The regular "Fast Boot" setting works, but the fastest does not.

Overall Review: I had an older MSI Eclipse SLI motherboard running the older Intel Extreme setup. I have never had any issues with MSI like I have had with similar brands.

Overall good experience, some cons

Pros: Worked out of the box, at least after I solved a problem with one of my DDR4 modules. Nice OC tools, good looking, M2 x4. Good for last 8 weeks.

Cons: With 5820k and this MOBO's PCI layout I cannot run my 2 Asus GTX 970 in x16 x8 mode (would be a case for most non reference GPUs). As I need to place my GPUs in slot 1 and 3 (to leave some venting space), I can only run them x8 x8. No big deal according to various benchmarks, still disappointing set-up (x16 x8 only with PCI slot 1 and 2). I would assume that most of the users will use non-reference cards, x16 x8 should be set for PCI 1 and 3.

Overall Review: At this point my CPU is OC to 4.4GHz, stable according to XTU stress test (Prime95 crashes, but folks question compatibility of Prime95 with Haswell). Might be able to move higher (work in progress). Using G.Skill DDR4 2400 OC'ed to 2666.
