Q: Is This back plate compatible with EVGA SSC GTX970 P/N:04G-3979-KB ?

yes, this backplate is specifically design for the SSC GTX970.

Question 1

Does this come with heat sink pads for the memory chips?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  The pads are pre-adhered to the backside of the plate.  These also serve to keep the plate from touching any metal on the PCB to prevent shorts.  Looking at the material of the pads, I'm not sure they will do too much heat transfer, but they're better than nothing.

Is this backplate compatible with my EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-2974-KR 4GB SC? Thanks for input.

This only fits the ssc ending in 75 and the ftw

Will this fit the non + (ACX2.0) card?  i.e. 3975-KR?  I don't know if there is a significant change to the PCB...

I don't believe so, EVGA's site shows two separate back plates, one for GTX 970 and the GTX 970 with the ACX2.0.  There is a notable difference between the two if you compare the images to one another.

this is the backing plate from newegg you need to go look at the cards at evga see if the card are the same size
 i ended up with becouse ups,fucked up delivery so i sent the other one to a freind that had 970 card that was older than mine it didn't fit his card, as you can see my card has diffrent numbers from the backing plate, best thing to do is call evga support ask them, their seem to be a size difrence from older prodution card lengh
